Where to, captain?

Pick a place and the autopilot flies you there. You can still steer any time.

How to fly

  • Easy way: press Destinations, pick a place, and the autopilot flies you there. Stay close to a world to discover it and read its story.
  • Steer: arrow keys or A / D to turn, R / F to point up / down (or drag the pad on a touch screen). W / S or the + / − buttons set your speed, X brakes, B boosts.
  • Look around: drag on the screen to swing the camera around your rocket, scroll or pinch to zoom. C turns the cinematic camera on or off.
  • Land: get close to a rocky world and press Land (L). Press it again to take off. Gas giants and stars have no surface!
  • Time: press T to make the planets orbit faster. O shows the orbit lines.
  • Beyond: fly far from the Sun to cross the heliopause into interstellar space, then visit Proxima Centauri, Sirius, TRAPPIST-1 and the black hole at the galaxy's centre. Distances are squeezed so trips take minutes, not millennia.

Sizes and distances are scaled to fit on screen. Facts are real. Progress is saved in your browser only.

Blast off from Earth in your own rocket, then fly the whole solar system: every planet, moon and probe, down to the Voyagers at the edge of space. Land on other worlds. Then keep going — across interstellar space to the nearest stars and the black hole at the heart of our galaxy.
